Town Meeting on the Gambling Referendum

As part of efforts to promote development and discussion on issues of national importance, COB in partnership with The Nassau Guardian, Guardian Radio 96.9 and Cable 12, are hosting a town meeting on the gambling referendum. The event is January 22, 2013 in the COB Performing Arts Centre. Registration is required.

You are invited to attend a Town Meeting on the impending Gambling Referendum hosted by The College of The Bahamas in collaboration with Guardian Talk Radio 96.9FM and Cable 12. On January 22, 2013, beginning at 8:00 p.m. at The College’s Performing Arts Centre, Keva M. Bethel Building, an expert panel will share their perspectives and analyse the issues and challenges; discuss the implications of proposed regulations and explore the impact of gambling on the national psyche. 

The debate on gambling has had a polarizing impact and this town meeting is a special opportunity for a thorough exploration of the broad context of gambling and its potential legalization and regulation.     

The moderator for the Town Meeting will be Star FM talk show host Mr. Jeffrey Lloyd, attorney-at-law, and panel guests will include:

   Mr. Raynard Rigby, attorney-at-law and Partner, Baycourt Chambers

   Mr. M’wale Rahming, President, Public Domain Ltd.

   Paul Major, International Corporate Banker
