Assistant Secretary - Judith Albury
 
 
 

Ms. Judith J. Albury was born on September 17, 1971 in Nassau, N.P., Bahamas and is the fifth child of Rowena and the late Preston H. Albury Sr.

She began her early education at Kingsway Academy, Uriah McPhee Primary and Our Lady's Catholic Primary Schools. She went to St. Augustine's College and graduated in 1988. She attained an Associate of Arts Degree in Marketing with Credit at The College of The Bahamas in 1991. In September, 1991, she traveled to Barbados to attend the University of The West Indies, where she attained a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Management with Honours in 1994. At UWI, she served as Treasurer for the Bahamas Students' Association, Floor Representative for Sherlock Hall Dormitory and Co-Manager for the Annual Carnival Queen Talent Show.

She returned home and took up employment at her original alma mater COB in July 1994. She has a vast wealth of working experience in different sections of The College as she has worked in the offices of the Bursar, Registrar, Research Unit and Human Resources. Presently, she is the Assistant Director of Training & Development in the Human Resources Department at The College.

In September 2000, COB and the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program granted Judith paid study leave and a full paid scholarship to pursue a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Management at the University of Manchester, Manchester, England. To date, she is the only Bahamian recipient of this international and competitive scholarship. Additionally, Judith's quest for knowledge continued and she recently completed a Diploma in Education (Business Studies) with Distinction at COB.

Judith is a member of The Bahamas Human Resources Development Association, the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Society for Training & Development Associations.

She attends St. Margaret Road Native Baptist Church where she is the Youth Sunday School Teacher.

She is also the proud mother of Miss Dovanya Anthoniece Lightbourne.
